PROPOSALS to build up to a dozen flats have been thrown out amid fears the development would tower over other homes and gardens.
The two-bedroom apartments were due to be put up on land behind the derelict Randles garage in Higherland, Newcastle.
It would have seen the car dealership's old rear parking area and a nearby workshop demolished to make way for the residential complex.
But now Newcastle Borough Council has rejected an outline planning application, which included accessing the site...
